Early Saturday Morning started off with Rain as we awoke and prepared to setup for the August Mustang Motorsport Track Day, we arrived at the track at 7am to setup and the clouds started to part. At that point we knew we were in for a good day. Drivers started to roll into the event from 7:30 to park their cars up in pit lane and sign in. not far behind was the Display cars from Melbourne Mustang 6G Club MM6G, Mustang Owners Club Australia MOCA and the Australian Shelby Registry ASR. The Volkscoffee van rolled in to make hot berages for everyone.
Shelby American has reintroduced its popular Shelby Raptor, beginning with a limited number of 2018 model year trucks that will be available through Shelby Mod Shops. With an incredible 827nm (610lb-ft) of torque, the super truck is based on the newest generation Ford F-150 Raptor. Only 500 total 2018 Shelby Raptors will be available. The stock 3.5-litre twin-turbo V-6 makes 336kw (450hp) and 691nm (510lb-ft) of torque; it is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Shelby Raptor has 392kw (525hp) and an incredible 827nm (610lb-ft) of torque.
Mustang Motorsport Competed in the annual Phillip Island 6 Hour Relay this year with Mustang Owners Club team Mustang Revolution! The entries was Graham Bell in his 65 Fastback, Shippo in his Blue 65 Fastback, Rob Tuckett in his silver 65 Coupe and James in Craig’s 2015 Shelby GT. The Phillip Island 6 Hour is not a race but a regularity event you must nominate a lap time and not go under this time...
Shelby American will finish the “secret weapon” program that Carroll Shelby envisioned for the 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans with a limited production series of big block Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupes. Six aluminum cars will be built to Shelby’s specifications for the original race car. Mustang Motorsport hosted the Australian Shelby Registry at MMS HQ on the first Sunday of June. The chilly morning was warmed up with the help of 'Volks Coffee' and their amazing Kombi. We had a great range of Shelbys on display, including the Shelby GT350H that won the best presented award for the day. Along with 1967 GT500s, a Shelby Cobra, 2007 GT500KR’s and new S550 Shelby Super Snakes and GTs.
